It is very clear that obesity (being over weight ) is a huge problem around the world. Obesity is known to be a gateway for other diseases like Diabetes, heart disease and other related aliments.  

High calories and even a poor lifestyle habits can contribute immensely to the problem of over weight, also, there are a number of other environmental and lifestyle factors that are likely to play a much more significant role, mainly because most people don’t realize they’re affected by them, and therefore fail to address them. 


1 Antibiotics In Medicine & Food

There is a strong connection between microbiome and obesity. Based on recent research, there is link between antibiotic overuse and weight gain.
There is a common need for people to treat all of their infections with antibiotics.And the problem with overusing antibiotics is that it wipes away the good bacteria in your gut. 

The good bacteria (probiotics) are, in fact, very crucial to your health to the point that researchers have liken them to a newly recognized the human body.

Antibiotics that are found in animal food are used both to eliminate diseases and can also increase weight gain. Research suggests that antibiotic found in meat has the same weight gaining effect on humans who eat it. Although this is the usual practice in countries like America and African countries that have also adopted the use of such agricultural methods.

2  Growth-Enhancing Drugs Found In Livestock Production

Drugs used to fatten up livestock have are known to have weight-gaining effects on humans who eat such diary. Ractopamine is an example of such drugs. It's a beta-agonist drug that works as a growth promoter by increasing protein synthesis, thereby making the animal more muscular.

In human medicine, beta-agonists can be found in asthma medication, and stubborn weight gain is in fact a common complaint among asthma patients that are using Advair (a beta-agonist drug). The use has become so much that the manufacturer has added weight gain to the post-marketing side effects.
It is important to know that these drugs have been known to cause infertility, birth defects, disability, and even death. So be cautious!

3 Endocrine From Household Products

Many household products contains endocrine disruptors, some of which are structurally similar to hormones such as estrogen and therefore can affect a person’s normal body functions.

Other type of  household products that contains endocrine include bisphenol-A (BPA), PCBs, phthalates, triclosan, agricultural pesticides, and fire retardants.

Certain agricultural chemicals like glyphosate in particular, can cause obesity by obliterating healthy gut bacteria. Again, a recent research has proven that glyphosate causes extreme disruption of microbes’ functions and lifecycles, and preferentially affects beneficial bacteria, allowing pathogens to overgrow.

The vast majority of the glyphosate people are eating comes from genetically engineered (GE) sugar, corn, soy, and conventionally-grown desiccated wheat. Besides altering your gut flora, glyphosate also enhances the damaging effects of other food-borne chemical residues and environmental toxins.

4 Artificial Sweeteners

Again, there is a massive misconception when it comes to artificial sweeteners. They are marketed by various beverage companies as ‘diet’ on the go, however research proven suggests otherwise.

Artificial sweeteners is also known to stimulate your appetite, increase cravings for carbs, and stimulate fat storage and obesity.  Artificial sweeteners works by tricking the brain into believing it’s receiving sugar, and when no sugar arrives, the brains signals that it needs carbs. Hence it then promotes obesity.

How To Avoid Obesity

Like i have mentioned above, one of the main ways to avoid obesity is to watch the kind of food you eat. The food you eat should be a quality one and not the quantity. 

1. Go For Organic Food 

 Organic foods does not contain harmful chemical preservatives, hormones, or pesticides that can cause obesity. 

2. Aviod processed food

Aviod processed  foods, they are really bad for your health.

3.Buy Whole, Organic foods and Cook Them Yourself.

Doing this will drastically reduce your sugar consumption, which is of course the root cause of insulin resistance and obesity. If you buy organic products, you’ll also cut your exposure to pesticides and genetically modified foods, and in ditching processed foods, you’ll automatically avoid artificial sweeteners and harmful processed fats.

4. Go For Healthy essential Fats.

If you like eating faty products,  make sure you are not consuming the wrong fats. The best sources healthy fats to add to your diet include avocados, coconuts and coconut oil, unheated organic nut oils and raw nuts and seeds.

5. Always Use glass packaging and storage containers 
To avoid endocrine disrupting chemicals affecting your health, always use a glass packing container when packaging your food, this is another way of eating clean.
