Bad breath which is also known as halitosis occurs in the mouth as a result of poor dental hygiene or even as a sign of underlying health issues in most cases.

Bad breath in some cases can be as a result of eating strong smelling foods, smoking or dry mouth although most times gum diseases and oral thrush can also give the mouth a foul smell.

Generally Bad breath is usually caused as a result of bacteria that are built up at the back of the tongue or even between the teeth.

Bad breath or halitosis is a common problem found in the mouth of lot of people out there and can even get worse over time if not treated properly.

 Below are some simple habits indulge in that can will help keep bad breath away:


1.Chew Minty Gums.

Chewing Gums can help stimulate saliva production. When chewing gums, chew chewing minty gums as they are known to be very effective.

Flossing and Brushing.

.Flossing and brushing in the morning and at night to get rid of trapped food particles is another way to prevent bad breath.

3.Cleaning the Tongue. 

Make it a habit to clean your tongue after brush. repeat the process day and night.

4.Rinse Mouth.

 This is an important thing to do after eating especially spicy foods.

5.Eat Mint Or Parsley Leaves.

Occasionally eat mint or parsley leaves, this is to  make your breath fresh and minty.

6.Eat Vitamin C Fruits.

Eat fruits high in Vitamin C, apples especially this is to help keep the breath fresh and make your breath refreshing.

7.Drink water more often.

Drinking water is also another way to flush your mouth very well, water acts a cleanser for your mouth. This is not to be disregarded.


Please do note that  drinks and foods like onions, garlic as well as coffee and alcohol are causes of  bad breath! Brush your mouth regularly as this is a sure way to reduce bad breath.
